We aim to work with our entire value chain, to limit our environmental impact and support both our customers and our suppliers in their sustainability efforts.
At AH diagnostics we recognize the necessity of contributing toward a healthier planet, adopting practices such as reducing and sorting waste, preserving resources, recycling, as well as selecting products that can help you take part in the green transition.
As an extension of this commitment, our group has undertaken the evaluation of some of our products, analyzing their impacts on the environment. Our goal is to support you in a transition towards more sustainable choices, by offering you an objective and detailed evaluation of our products. This initiative is part of our ongoing commitment to supporting your commitment to a better future while preserving the quality and effectiveness of the solutions we offer you.
Through careful data collection from partner manufacturers, our group evaluates each product according to various environmental criteria, including their manufacturing process, shipping, use, and end-of-life. Following this rigorous evaluation, we assign each product a rating as well as a summary document. This rating called "GoGreen Score" can be used as a reference, offering a comparative tool between similar products.
Aside from the above-described implementation of an internal scoring system to support your comparison of products, we are committed to lessening our footprint, when possible, for example in terms of company cars and power supply.
AH diagnostics aims to replace all fossil-fueled company cars with non-fossil-driven cars by the end of 2028. For several years, the AH headquarters has been powered by Green Electricity. All lighting fixtures are LED and where possible light switches are sensor controlled. Our AH Environmental Policy states the following :
“Reducing our carbon footprint by using less energy overall and utilizing renewable energy sources when possible.”
We work actively to create a diverse and inclusive workplace. Our AH Employment Policy states the following:
“AH advocates gender equality – both in terms of career opportunities and wage conditions.
AH will be a diverse and spacious workplace where all employees – regardless of gender, age, nationality, religion, sexual orientation, or disability – have equal rights and opportunities in their work and career paths.
Employees are remunerated according to their qualifications, responsibilities, and the nature of their tasks, without regard to gender. Equal work or work of equal value is equally paid."
As an organization, we hold our employees to high standards in terms of ethics and values. Every year, our employees must attend and receive certification in an anti-bribery course, and we hold several ISO certifications that cover quality, health and safety and the environment. Our AH Code of Conduct states the following:
“The Organization and its employees must, at all times, comply with all applicable laws and regulations. The Organization will not condone the activities of employees who achieve results through violation of the law or unethical business dealings. This includes any payments for illegal acts, indirect contributions, and bribery. The Organization does not permit any activity that fails to stand the closest possible public scrutiny.”

You can contribute to the sustainable transition in your everyday work in the lab. By making small changes in your choices or how you act, you can influence the impact your lab has on our planet. Below, you can find a few tips and tricks you can incorporate every day, to make your contribution to a better future.
Reduce energy consumption
Turn off or close your lab equipment when not in use - instruments, computers, fume hoods, etc. to reduce dormant energy consumption.
Raise the temperature on your ULT freezer - going from -80°C to -70°C can reduce electricity consumption by up to 37%, usually without compromising the samples.
However, we recommend always running a test first to ensure that your samples are not at risk.
You can read more about this here.
Regular upkeep of your equipment
Keeping your equipment and instruments in good condition can prolong the lifetime and ensure less downtime. Changing filters in due time, cleaning equipment regularly, defrosting your freezer, and keeping up on service on your instruments – these are all examples of how you can make sure that you have your equipment as long as possible.
Make conscious choices
Select and purchase labware, reagents, and instruments that feature efficiency and less resource waste. Look for certifications you trust that signify a more sustainable product or producer. Do you really need a 50 mL tube? Consider if your sample could fit in a 25- or 15 mL tube instead and have a variety of sizes to fit your needs.
